We need your support to continue for the next 35 years and beyond!
This Pride season, JOIN US in our life-affirming work of dismantling oppressive systems to ensure our artists can create from a place of joy.
GIVE: Our work is made better with your support!
SHARE: Amplify our messages this month by sharing graphics, videos, and other posts on social media.
GROW: Grow our community by building your own fundraising page for TTO and inviting your friends and loved ones to support our work and join the movement.
Your Impact
Your support this year has allowed us to build safe havens for QTPOC artists and youth, including:
YOUTH AND FAMILIES: In 1993, there were no youth theater programs specifically for LGBTQ+ Youth. Now, 35 years later, alumni of True Colors have gone on to make big waves - from local drag superstars Neon Calypso and Candace Persuasian, to rapper Big Body Kweeng, and beyond. In TTO’s True Colors: OUT Youth Theatre, youth have the opportunities to name their realities and create their own self liberation and own futures.
ARTISTS: Our Queer (Re)Public resident artists are re-envisioning the arts landscape for present and future. Annalise Guidry is a thought leader with their revolutionary new Theatre of Union praxis. Cheyenne Wyzzard-Jones’s new musical, The Messenger, utilizes groundbreaking Afro-Indigenous songwriting and storytelling. Victoria Lynn Awkward's dance piece, In the Space Between, follows a soloist as they inspire their community to delve into their wildest dreams.
COMMUNITY: This year, we’ve ramped up community programming under the thoughtful leadership of executive director Giselle Byrd, including a Black Legacy Brunch and Transgender Day of Visibility celebrations. For Pride, in partnership with the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s exhibition, On Christopher Street, TTO is offering Radical Futures programming that explores gender expression, cultural activism, and healing in BIPOC trans art and rituals of community care.
